Our project Spring, located within the Grade I listed Somerset House, saw us collaborating with chef Skye Gyngell, to translate her vision for a serene and sensory dining experience into an elegant architectural solution that respected the building's unique heritage.

OVERVIEW

The project presented many challenges, particularly in integrating modern services into the historic fabric of the building. Our response for the main dining room was carefully designed to balance openness and intimacy, using high-quality finishes and subtle spatial organisation to create a calm, refined atmosphere. We also introduced a new ‘dining garden’ by transforming an existing internal lightwell, adding a glazed roof to create an intimate, year-round space with an al fresco feel.

We also designed two bespoke bars, each tailored to specific client needs, while the overall interior focuses on high-quality finishes and subtle spatial organisation to create a refined, calm atmosphere.

Since opening in 2014, Spring has earned acclaim for its exceptional cuisine as well as its elegant and innovative design, successfully blending contemporary elements with the historic setting.
